Murphy's Army - The Journey
Murphy, a Siberian Husky, went missing believed stolen in December 2014. His devastated family launched a social media campaign to help find him. The animal-loving community quickly took Murphy and his family to heart, and in a short space of time, his story was known not only across the UK but around the world.
Thankfully, Murphy was returned to his family three months later. But the campaign didn’t end there. Drawn together by Murphy’s disappearance, our team pledged to continue their efforts and so, Murphy’s Army was born.
Over the years, we have helped reunite many missing pets with their families, raised much-needed awareness of the growing issue of pet theft, and supported countless animals in need. We have always tried to do our very best to help - wherever and however that help was needed.
On 2nd September 2024, our beloved Murphy peacefully crossed the Rainbow Bridge. A sad day indeed. Without him, neither Murphy’s Army nor our Purple Poppy Campaign would exist. We owe him everything, and we know his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who followed his journey.
Although this marks the end of an era for the lost and stolen side of Murphy’s Army, our efforts will now focus on our Purple Poppy Campaign to further support service animals. We look forward to welcoming you to our dedicated Purple Poppy Campaign website and to the next episode of our journey...
